THE GROUP PRACTICE AT RIVER PLACE - NON NHS SERVICE FEES

There will be certain forms and medicals that require a doctor to complete. GP’s are entitled to charge a fee for certain services that are not part of their normal NHS work.

Please be aware that private forms and requests can take 2 weeks to 1 month to complete. If a medical appointment is necessary, then there may be a longer wait, as this would require a routine appointment with your usual doctor.  Our Admin Team will further advise you about this.

Please hand in your request to reception and make sure that your telephone number is correct on our system. You will be contacted by our admin team and informed of any costs. These are in most cases payable in advance of the request being processed.

How you can help

  • You can request a medical summary from us. This is a print out of your medications, medical problems and drug allergies. This will be processed quickly (normally straightaway) and can be done at reception. This is usually adequate for certain forms that do not need a full report. We do not charge a fee for a medical summary.

  • Not all documents need a signature by a doctor, for example passport applications. You can ask another person in a position of trust to sign such documents free of charge.

  • If you have several forms requiring completion, please hand them all in at the same time to speed up the process.

  • GPs have a heavy workload and cannot prioritise your form before urgent medical matters.
