Alcohol and Drugs Advisor
Please speak to your GP or one of our practice nurses if you would like advice or support with drug and alcohol problems.
You can also self-refer to Islington Better Lives for an assessment
Cervical Smears
Cervical smears are offered every three years to all women aged 25 to 49 years, and every 5 years for those aged 50 to 64 years. Please book an appointment with our Practice Nurses. Alternatively an appointment can be arranged in the extended hours service.
Child Health and Immunisations
Our Practice Nurses are able to offer immunisations, including child health immunisations, and adult immunisations such as shingles, pneumonia and flu. We do not provide COVID jabs.
We also undertake baby six week health checks which includes a doctor being present. Please ensure that you bring the baby's red book with you to all clinics. Immunisations cannot be given without the red book.
Further advice and support:
Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS)
The practice is part of this new scheme run in conjunction with local community pharmacists. It allows patients to get advice, treatment and medication from the pharmacist (chemist) without having to see the doctor.
Our Care Navigators can discuss this with you and if deemed appropriate can book you a dedicated appointment with a pharmacy of your choice.
This will also help us to free up GP appointments for people with more complex health needs and ensure that everyone gets treated at the right time, by the right healthcare professional.
We are keen to hear what you think and will be listening to your comments and feedback about your experience of using this service.
Contraception
The doctors and nurses provide a wide range of sexual health advice and screening which includes:
- Providing contraception, including fitting of coils and implants
- Free condoms (ask at reception)
If you need emergency contraception, please call the surgery and we can arrange to provide this.
All services are strictly confidential.
Fit Notes
If you are off work due to illness for up to 7 days you can fill in a self-certificate, which you can get from your employer. If you are ill for more than 7 days you will need a doctor's certificate for your employer. If your employer requests a sick form from you and you are ill for less than 7 days, we can issue a private certificate, however a fee will be charged.
Interpreters
We can arrange for an interpreter to be present for your routine GP or nurse appointment for patients whose first language is not English.
Please let us know if you need this service when booking an appointment.
The service is not usually available for urgent appointments, but we can use a secure telephone interpreting service for urgent care if needed.
